Great question!
My experiences have given me a thorough understanding of what challenges, and motivates me. Through my roles previous to Shopify, as an Merchant Success Manager with Shopify Plus, and as a Squad Lead within Support, I've mastered the art of communication and feedback. I love understanding concerns or goals and providing actions to achieve them. Providing feedback and developing ways to move to the next level is something I constantly seek for myself and others. I tend to carefully consider feedback before taking action, to make sure that it's the best for the long-term.
I have both professional, and personal experience as a facilitator. I've worked closely with the Talent Acceleration team at Shopify to Level Up my facilitation skills through hands-on experience. The opportunity to co-facilitate peer groups within the Lead Level Up program helped to solidify my leadership skills, and communication with merchants as an MSM.
In my role as a Squad Lead, I participated in Lead Level Up, and truly enjoyed the challenges I faced in growing myself, and my team. The program was one of the most influential points to my career, and since, I have been dedicated to sharing knowledge and experiences with other leads. I made myself available as a mentor to many new leads joining the Support Team, and will always go above and beyond to help grow team mates.
I've been known for a good story and would love the opportunity to share more with you about the challenges I've faced, and how I've overcome them. I've been broken many, many, times at Shopify. I've spent a lot of time soul searching, and in the process learned a lot about myself, an where my fit is in this wild world. The answers I've unveiled have lead me to apply to this position, with confidence.
I'm confident in taking ownership in any situation, by using my ability to listen, understand, set expectations and move forward to a solution. I'll use another water metaphor, and truly look forward to discussing this opportunity further with you.
Rarely is water still, we can open up a new path to travel down and when we splash into something in our way, we find a new direction with ease.
